Julie Holderby Photography: Blog https://www.julieholderby.com/blog en-us (C) Julie Holderby Photography [email protected] (Julie Holderby Photography) Mon, 16 Mar 2020 06:55:00 GMT Mon, 16 Mar 2020 06:55:00 GMT https://www.julieholderby.com/img/s/v-12/u421483263-o716068322-50.jpg Julie Holderby Photography: Blog https://www.julieholderby.com/blog 120 80 Kari & Simon Engaged at Oak Glen, Ca https://www.julieholderby.com/blog/2016/3/kari-simon-engaged-at-oak-glen-ca ​I meet Kari and her Fiancé Simon for the 1st time Saturday afternoon for their engagement session.  I immediately loved this couple!  Simons Australian accent didn't hurt one bit!  Seriously they are a great couple who meet in an Irish pub in Chino and sparks flew.  They both like different sports team for baseball and football, so I am sure their house will be so much fun on game day loud and crazy!  They wanted a really rustic look for their photos so they picked Riley's Farm in Oak Glen.  I meet them as they were finishing up lunch in The Hawks Head Public House were live music from the 1800's played.  We headed out to the farm and actually got to play and feed goats and horses.  The goats photobombed a few of the pictures in between head butting each other and screaming.  It was pretty funny watching Kari & Simon play with the animals.  I was trying to get a ring shot when I accidentally unearthed a spider and ant nest. Thank God Kari & Simon went to the car to change because I screamed like a little girl and danced around smacking my self all over.  I am so not a fan of spiders or ants!!  All and All we had a beautiful day and I made new friends...

OK these kids cracked me up!  We were doing the formal dances and what do I see coming across the dance floor...  I laughed so hard they were totally unaware of what was going on and having a great time.

The garter and bouquet toss was completely crazy!  There were people flying everywhere running so fast around Joe and Espy who by they way were up on chairs!  All in all it was a great night and I don't think anybody was hurt.

They are the perfect example of why I LOVE engagement sessions.  I had meet Brian & Karen 1 time before the session.  I thought they were going to be a soft, sweet, romantic couple.  Was I wrong!  They are sweet and romantic but fun and they like to play around so we did!

They had me cracking up!

And they are dog people too! So you know I loved them!  I cant wait until the wedding in May.

I took Marcus & Samantha to The UCR Botanical Gardens in Riverside.  The weather had been so cold and rainy the week before I was really nervous. Low and behold we woke up to a gorgeous day!

Samantha is a nanny for a wonderful family, and Marcus just got a great new job at an upscale national hotel chain.  They are doing everything to get ready to be a brand new newlywed couple.

This is one of my favorites of the day!  

Marcus and Samantha were so cute with each other and SO in love.  

Just look at the beautiful Samantha her smile is just so contagious!  It is so hard not to be happy around her.

Now Marcus he is a total Ham for the camera he had no problem striking a pose!  He was cracking me up when I had him alone.

One last super cute one!  I can't wait until the wedding in October!

My Sophia...  My family had been looking for a Lab puppy to bring in to our family,  We found Sophia.  She was the sweetest little thing!

Soon after we brought her home she became ill.  She was rushed to the vet and they thought she just had a bad case of round worms and she was treated for them.

She started feeling better so I was able to take these pictures of her.  She ran around for 2 days playing chewing on my husbands fingers, playing with a ball.  She barked for the 1st time and scared herself!  She was adorable.  The whole family fell in love with Sophia...

The next morning she was feeling really bad again.  We rushed her back to the vet and they kept her over night.  On my way home from San Diego I stopped to see her at the vet she was so sick and I was so sad.  I took one of my shirts off so she could cuddle with it over night and smell her mommy.  The next morning I called the office and they said she had passed away in the night.  We were devastated we only had her for a week but we loved her so much.  We will miss you baby girl.  And we will never forget you....

I chose this last photo because my daughter Tori shot it.  She actually took a few great shots of the bride and groom.  I was really impressed with her eye for detail and it was a lot of fun having her with me.  Maybe she caught the photography bug and will want to do more with me...

But now back to the trip.

This barn is next to their property I think its beautiful.

But I would never go into it to scary !!!!

I love this Walnut Tree in the yard.  I can't exactly remember how it fell down it was either Lightning, Wind, or the big Ice Storm they had in Missouri a few years ago but I think it is just Beautiful.

Nothing like a sexy tractor out back!

They have the most amazing Lilac tree and it was full of butterflies & Bee's.  I only had 1 lens with me so I had to get pretty close and when I did everybody took off but I got a few shots of this beauty.

They took me to many beautiful places in Disneyland I have never been.

I love the hearts...

I never thought I would find the occasion to lay down at Disneyland until they showed me the 4 leaf clover.
